Why was the south east (and Buckingham) angry at Richard?
placed an Oyer and terminer on the south west to prevent rebellion
(one also placed on London after fires were started to try and free the princes from the tower)
why did Buckingham rebel?
- either wanted to be king (claim) or wanted Tudor to be king
- Buckingham had most land and titles but always wanted more so annoyed when Richard refused
- saw himself as kingmaker so wanted to put Tudor on the throne
why did Buckinghams rebellion fail?
- forces to flee due to rain
- harassed by Richard loyalists
- mounting desertion from demoralised troops
- betrayed by sheriff of Shropshire

2nd November 1483
where did Buckingham try to rebel?
Wales and south as he was in charge there so had power (however didn’t get as much support as he thought)
Why did Henry never land in England in Buckinghams rebellion?
- storms meant he couldn’t land
- told by Buckingham not to land due to the weather and the fact the rebellion was going badly
what were the consequences of Buckinghams rebellion?
- Richard contained rebellion in south and Wales
- Doest and Daubeney flee to Tudors court
- Tudor retuned to Brittany after hearing of Buckinghams execution
- Tudor now emerged as credible rival to the throne
- lands confiscated from the rebels and 100 northern nobles benefited form this (south not happy)

- not Yorks vs lancasters - it was Yorkists who did and sins support Richard
- once they believed Edward V was dead they went against Richard
