D (quizlet picture)
cornea.. transparent part of the eye that cover the iris and the pupil and allows light to enter
E
iris.. the colored tissue in the front of the eye that helps control the amount of light entering the eye
F
pupil.. the round opening in the center of the iris
G
aqueous humor.. clear fluid filling between the lens and cornea
H
lens.. a clear, curved structure at the front of the eye behind the pupil that focuses the light rays entering the eye making an image on the retina
J
vitreous humor..transparent tissue filling the eyeball behind the lens
K
sclera.. the white outer layer of the eyeball
M
retina.. the light sensitive layers of nerve tissue at the back of the eye that receive images and signals and send them through the optic nerve to the brain
P
optic nerve.. the nerve that carries messages from the retina to the brain
Q
optic disc.. where ganglion cell axons exit the eye to from the optic nerve
rods
retinal receptors that detect black, white, and gray
