Choroid
The black middle layer of the eye which contains blood vessels

Specialized photoreceptors which are responsible for color vision

Organ which produces a substance made of water, mucous, salts, and lysozyme
Iris
A sphincter muscle which controls the amount of light entering the eye
Retina
The innermost layer of the posterior cavity of the eye. It is made up of millions of photoreceptors
Accommodation
Chaning focus
The ability of the ciliary muscles to change the shape of the lens, allowing clear focus at different focal lengths
Astigmatism

A defect in the curvature of the cornea or sometimes the lens
Aqueous humor
Aque -> Aqua -> Liqud
A clear fluid filling the anterior cavity of the eye which nourishes the cornea and other internal parts
Myopia
A vision defect in which the eye is too long for correct focus
Ciliary body
Ciliary Muscle
Structures of the eye which function in focusing the eye made up of the lens, ciliary muscles, and suspensory ligaments
Sclera
The outer covering of the posterior 5/6ths of the eye, composed of fibrous connective tissue
Hyperopia
Hypero -> Hypo
A vision defect in which is too short for correct focus
Rods
Photoreceptors which function in black and white vision
Cornea
Tough transparent covering over the anterior 1/6th of the eye which allows light to enter the eye
Presbyopia
A loss in the ability to focus on near objects due to the loss of elasticity in the lens
Optic disk
Optic Nerve
The point on the retina in which the optic nerve exists the eye and there are no photoreceptors at this point
Vitreous humor
Pulled this out of the cow eye
A clear jelly like liquid which fills the posterior cavity of the eye
Lens
A clear membrane like structure which is very elastic and refracts light upon the retina
