First line tx: Beta blockers for open angle glaucoma
Selective B1: betaxolol (betopic)
Non-selective: timolol (timoptic)
Levobunolol (betagan)
First line prostaglandin-inhibitor for open angle glaucoma:
Bimatoprost (lumigan)
Latanoprost (xalatan)
Selective alpha-2 receptor agonists: 2nd line tx for open angle glaucoma
Brimonidine(alphagan)
2nd line tx for open angle glaucoma–> cholinergic agent
Pilocarpine soln (isopto Carptine)
3rd line tx for open angle glaucoma: topical carbonic anhydride inhibitors
Topical: brinzolamide (adopt)
Systemic: acetazolamide (diamox)
Dacroadenitis/dacrocystitis tx:
Mild: augmenting or keflex–> 24/hr follow-up with opthamologist
Mild to severe: admit to hospital; IV abx
Normal pH
6.5-7.5
Normal IOP
