what is the purpose of the extubation criteria?
- to see whether the patient can protect their own airway.

- that they will not require to be reintubated
- pt is able to breath deeply
- are able to manage their own secretions
What is a cuff leak test? When and why is it performed?
- performed by Dr’s
- check if pt is able to breath
what equipment is required to ensure safe extubation?
- PPE
- yanker sucker
- Blue mat
- 10ml syringe
- HM with 10lt O2
- sats probe working
- intubation trolley
