DEFINITIONS

Describes how hot, humid weather feels to the average person. The humidex combines the temperature and humidity into one number to reflect the perceived temperature. Because it takes into account the two most important factors that affect summer comfort, it can be a better measure of how stifling the air feels than either temperature or humidity alone

DEFINITIONS

Issued when 2 consecutive days of daytime maximum temperatures are expected to reach 31°C or more and nighttime minimum temperatures are expected to fall to 20°C or higher. It is also issued when 2 consecutive days of humidex values are expected to reach 40°C or more

DEFINITIONS

What constitutes severe thunderstorms

(One or more of the following)

A
  1. Wind gusts of 90 km/h or greater, which could cause structural wind damage
  2. Hail of two centimeters (cm) or larger in diameter; or heavy rainfall, as per rainfall criteria

Prior to the start of any outdoor training exercises, examinations or any outdoor NON emergency events

  1. The supervisor in charge shall check what information?
