Extractions + fillings Flashcards
Upper teeth needing extraction
A posterior superior dental block or buccal infiltration of second + third molars
A buccal infiltration much be given for 6-1
A palatal infiltration must be given is removing upper teeth for molars using greater palatine nerve or naso palatine nerve for anterior teeth
Lower teeth needing extraction
An inferior dental block injection will numb all areas of lower teeth with exception of buccal surface of the lower molars which will need a long buccal infiltration
Upper fillings
only the tooth needs to be anaesthetised
a local buccal infiltration is sufficient
sometimes for molars a posterior superior dental block is preferred
Lower fillings
an inferior dental block will anaesthetise all lower teeth
for lower incisors, a local buccal infiltration will be sufficient
