What are sex-linked genes?
Genes that are located of the sex chromosomes
What are autosomal genes?
genes that are found on the non-sex chromosomes
What is a carrier?
Someone who has the disease causing allele and can pass it onto their offspring but they themselves do not show the disease symptoms
What is incomplete dominance?
When a heterozygous phenotype is displayed that is somewhere between the two homozygous phenotypes
What is codominance?
when both traits are fully and separately expressed
What is a pedigree?
A chart that can help trace trace the phenotype and genotypes in a family to determine whether people carry recessive alleles
What is chromosome mapping?
A process where someone is able to search for a particular gene by a chromosomes into smaller pieces
