A

An example of de facto segregation, this seperated social and religious contact. Facilities provided for blacks were always inferior, accompanied with humiliatig signs, such as “colored water”, “No blacks allowed”, “Whites only”.

A

SNCC harnessed the energy of black students by organizing these where blacks would sit in a white-only lunch counter and refuse to leave until they were served. They were trained to take whatever tormenting or harm.
