The way in which businesses, people, and technology are becoming connected around the world e.g. McDonald’s setting up around the world

When TNCs such as McDonald’s, which operate around the globe have to adapt to the local culture in each country

Why does McDonald’s not sell pork in some countries?
For religious reasons (kosher - Hindus think cows are sacred)
In what other ways has McDonald’s changed its meat products?
In India, there no beef on the menu due to religious reasons
How have they adapted the prices in India?
Made them cheaper (20p for a burger)
How are the McDonald’s helping the local economy in India?
Everything from local businesses e.g. fridges, furniture and chillers
- also creates new jobs

Dominoes, Burger King, KFC
What is diaspord?
The spread of a group of people from their original homeland e.g. polish migrants living in the uk
Why did the polish people come to the uk in the past and more recently?
- The polish have been settling here since world war 2 started
- more recently moving because of jobs
What changes have the polish people made to the towns in the uk?
Polish supermarkets, grocers, churches and cultural centres have been built
Why do some people blame migrants for problems?
“As with every large group of migrants, you do get some who are criminals” , huge scams going on with benefits, they get benefits then go back home with the money
