Q

General recommendations regarding stretching in exercise Rx

A

Perform exercises 2-3 times on each side 2-3x/day

Stretch each side for 15 seconds or 4 deep breaths, unless otherwise prescribed

Once the feeling of stretch is no longer appreciated, you can cut down on frequency. Must reassess every week!

Q

During self-stretch of the scalenes, different muscles can be stretched depending upon amount of head rotation that you perform.

With no rotation, the ______ scalenes will be stretched

With rotation towards the affected side, the ______ scalenes will be stretched

With rotation away from the affected side, the _____ scalenes will be stretched

A

Middle

Anterior

Posterior
