Exchange process for rings Flashcards
If the ring is returned after 30 days, then the ring may qualify up to 75% of it’s initial price.
It is important that the ring must be in good condition. The returned rings must be examined by either Vipul of Ally. They will determine how much credit will be applied.
If the ring is returned after 30 days, then the ring may qualify up to 75% of it’s initial price.
After 30 days, we will only be providing credit toward a new ring. If a customer decides to exchange the ring to a less expensive item, we will not be providing a monetary refund. The price difference will be remain as store credit only that can be used to purchase a new ring or different product (like a ring cleaner).

How the payment will be processed for the price difference
Creating a new order with Layaway plan
This is the easiest way how customers can process the exchange process. They will create a new order with the Layaway plan and we will simply apply the credit from the old ring.
Payment through PayPal
If you are modifying the existing order, then you must calculate for the price difference in Magento and send a PayPal invoice for the price difference.
Make sure to include the PayPal invoice number in shipworks for original order. So we know that the payment was processed before sending the ring out.
Financing
Creating coupons will be covered in different article, but we will be creating a coupon code that can be applied at the checkout.
Then they will pay for the price difference through Affirm/financing
When the ring arrives back
Here are the steps to follow when the physical ring arrives at our office.
Invoices
When the ring arrives, Gladys will process it on shipworks and place the ring in “received shipments” bin
Then either print out the invoice for the new order or modify the original invoice with new item
Accounting
Bring the rings and both old and new invoices to Accounting for processing
Production
Ask Gladys to place a new order for the ring and notify the customer with estimated shipping date for the new ring.
The exchange process may seem complicated. Therefore, take one step at a time and do not rush to get the new order out.
