How do you answer a 20 mark question?
THINK OF IT LIKE A BURGER 🍔!!!
1. Intro - define topic in question, who and why do people do this thing?
2. Body paragraphs- what is your case study? Name and locate it
. What are positive and negative aspects of the topic you’re taking about
. FOR EXAMPLE, WHICH MEANS = KEY PHRASES
3. Conclusion- what is you opinion and why?
. NO NEW INFORMATION IN CONCLUSION
Example Exam question: with reference to an example you have studied, outline the potential social and economic consequences of counter-urbanisation (20 marks)
- Intro- counter-urbanisation is movement of people from urban areas into rural areas surrounding the city
. Most affluent+ mobile people move+ families with children - Body Paragraphs - St Ives located in Cambridgeshire 70 miles north of London, 18 miles from Cambridge along A14 ➡️ M1 ➡️ London
. Social consequences= less community spirit, social conflicts, new shops, dormitory settlements
. Economic consequences= house prices rise, more employment due to more businesses, £116 million guided busway - Conclusion- counter-urbanisation is a bad thing because communities being lost and village changing
