What should you do with MCQ’s?
Read the questions very carefully
Answer all of them, if your struggling come back later - don’t waste time!
Eliminate answers that are definitely wrong
Spend a maximum of 1 minute per mark or less to gain time on case-studies
What should you do with calculation questions?
Calculate means AO1 =2 marks AO2 = 2 marks
Make sure to state any formula’s used (you’ll get a mark for this)
Show all workings
Write a statement of what the calculations mean, where possible
What should you do with a 5 mark explain question?
Explain means AO1 = 1 Mark AO2 = 3 Marks AO3 = 1 Mark
Demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of issues in the question
Demonstrate analysis which is well developed and is applied effectively to the context.
If it says ‘one’ only give one point
What would you do with a 9 mark question?
Analysis means AO1 = 3 Marks AO2 = 3 Marks AO3 = 3 Marks
Intro - describe business e.g new/mature/established, describe the market they operate in e.g Competitive/growing/dynamic/declining/monopolistic/oligopolistic describe any key relevant info relevant to the question and define terms in the question where possible.
Do two points depending on what the questions asking e.g 2 reasons for why they moved to JIT do 2 reasons for why they did that, but for analyze the impact of increasing capacity utilization do a point for both sides of the argument.
What would you do with a 16 mark question?
Analysis AO1 = 3 Marks AO2 = 3 Marks AO3 = 3 Marks

What would you do for a 20 mark question?
Bring in as many elements of the course as possible.
Make sure it’s of sufficient length to demonstrate the ability to construct and develop a sustained line of reasoning which is coherent, relevant, substantiated and logically structured.
