The difference between a primary and secondary appraisal
Primary- determining whether the stressor poses a threat.
Secondary- evaluation of resources or coping strategies at there disposal for addressing perceived threats.
The stages in the General Adaptation Syndrome model
General adaption syndrome- three stages:
alarm
resistance
exhaustion
The chemical that is involved with the brain’s response to stress

Problem-focused- managing stress means we actively try to address the problem.
