Myelinated vs. unmyelinated nerve fibers.

A

MYELINATED: one axon, has myelin sheath, sends impulses by saltatory conduction. (The impulse “jumps” from one neurofibril node to another…known as Node of Ranvier.)

UNMYELINATED: multiple axons, no myelin sheath, sends impulses by continuous conduction. (The impulse travels along the entire length of the axon.)
