Q

Strong abases

A
  • Group I hydroxdes
  • Ba, Sr, Ca hyroxides are slightly soluble in water, but what does dissolve is 100% ionised, so we consider them also strong bases

Q

Crucial oxidation number rules

A
  • F atoms always have a ON of -1
  • halogens have -1 except when with oxygen
  • oxygen normally has -2 except with fluoride, and in peroxides (-1), and superoxides(-0.5).
