A

Erickson was a psychologist who disagreed with Freud and believed the important periods of development occurred within a lifespan, not childhood.

There are 8 stages of development that we all pass through. And they begin at infancy and end at old age with despair vs. integrity.

A

Strange situation is when a mom and her baby enters a room. The kid plays with toys as the mom is pulled away by a stranger. Coming back, their reaction to the mom is being videotaped and watched.

It is truth potion. Basically a sedative and an anti-anxiety medication.

What are false memories and how might therapists contribute to them?

A

Humans have constructive memories, that our memories contribute to or influences in various ways that is recalled. Therapists can help hypnosis, suggestive interviewing, interpretation of symptoms as signs of past trauma, pressure abut authoritative figures to recall trauma, and/or dream interpretations. They foster the recollection of events that did not actually happen.
