DSM-5_TR diagnostic criteria
depressed mood that exists most of the day, on most days, for 1+ year
Unhappy and/or irritable most of the time
At least 2 somatic symptoms:
Eating problems, sleep disturbances, low energy
OR at least 2 cognitive symptoms:
Lack of concentration, low self esteem, feelings of hopelessness
Symptoms are chronic but they are less severe than MDD
Longer course “persistent”
