Frequent verbal or physical temper outbursts [3-4 times a week, over a year, in ⅔ settings (home, school, w/ peers)]
Chronic, persistent, irritable or angry mood
onset
must be before age 10
DMDD cannot co-exist with
ODD or BP
CAN co-exist with
MDD, ADHD, CD, or substance-use disorder
core difference between DMDD and MDD/ P-DD
DMDD has a bigger focus on irritability, anger, and hostile behaviors over low mood seen in depression
