Exam 2 (yuh) Flashcards
Force is?
Friction, gravity, and air resistance
Law of inertia?
An object a rest will stay that way unless there is force to cause it to move
An object in motion will continue that motion (direction and speed) unless there is a force to cause it to change
Law of acceleration?
The change in motion of an object is proportional to the force applied
The change in motion is in the direction that force is applied
Law of action and reaction?
For every action force, there is an equal (in magnitude) and opposite (in direction) reaction
Motion capture?
High speed cameras, Micro Electro mechanical systems (MEMS) sensors, Electronic timing device
High speed cameras?
ex: baseball swing
Micro Electro mechanical systems (MEMS) sensors?
Inertia measurement units (IMU)
Mini accelerometers/ gyroscopes with micro electrical circuits
Force movement devices?
Force transducers, Force platform, Plantar pressure system, Electromyography (EMG) system
Force transducers?
Measure forces
Force platform?
Ground reaction forces
Plantar pressure system?
pressure=force applied over a given area
Electromyography (EMG) system?
Skeletal muscle force
Movement technique?
Precise position, prescribed movement patterns, proper timing
Factors influencing technique?
