Fistula
Abnormal connection, usually between two internal organs or from an internal organ to the surface of the body
Cystitis
Inflammation of the urinary bladder; more common in women due to the shorter urethra
Incontinence
Loss of urinary bladder control

Presence of excessive amounts of urea and nitrogen in the blood; urine in the blood
Micturate
Act of voiding urine
Incontinence
The inability to hold urine
Ectopic Kidney
abnormally positioned kidney
Dysuria
Difficult in or painful urination
Polycystic Disease (W/C/L)
W - multiple renal cysts of varying sizes that cause renal impairment
C - inherited
L - intravenous urography shows enlarged kidneys with multilobulated contour
Renal Vein Thrombosis (W/C/L)
W - thrombus is lodged in renal vein
C - child: severely dehydrated. adult: another renal disease, trauma, extension of thrombus from IVC, or from renal tumors
L - acute: striking kidney enlargement with little or no opacification. Partial: enlarged, smooth kidney with some secretion of contrast material
Wilm’s Tumor, “Nephroblastoma” (W/C/L)
W - most common abdominal neoplasm of infancy and childhood; very palpable and highly malignant
C - lesion arises from embryonic renal tissue
L - IV urography shows distortion and displacement of pelvicalyeal system; CT good to show full extent of tumor and possibility of recurrence after removal
