Physical development slows way down, muscles are toned, their eyes are the best they ever will be, life is centered around school, speech,writing, and reading are developed, memory becomes more complex, pleasing parents, don’t like being alone, awareness of other people around them, they want parental approval, reassurances, and peer acceptance

Girls are done growing in this stage, puberty starts, increase in cognitive skills, worried about appearance, respond better to peers than adults, getting ready to move away from family, self-confidence, and you are more mature about the way you approach problems
