Q

Please explain one thing you learned from Danielle Sheypuk’s Ted talk on sexuality and people with disabilities

A

I liked how Sheypuk talked about “date-able self-esteem”. This was something I could relate to and had not thought of before. I have seen this tread with not only myself but with my friends and their dating. I agree with Sheypuk that I tend to have lower “date-able self-esteem” compared to my actual self-esteem.

Q

What role should the government play in regulating sexual behavior? What about other institutions (employers, churches, schools, etc)? When might regulation be good? How might it be harmful?-

A

I think that governments should play some role in regulating sexual behaviors. I believe that cohesion and sexual variants should be regulated to protect people in the communities. However, I don’t believe that there should be regulations on what two consenting adults do in their own personal time. Employers, churches, and schools should not regulate what individuals do outside of their time or efforts with that community.
