What is EBM?
Integration of best current evidence, patient concerns and clinical expertise
Systematic review?
Review of evidence on a clearly formulated question that uses systematic and explicit methods to identify, select and critically appraise relevant primary research
Meta-analysis?
Statistical analysis that combines the results of multiple scientific studies
What is a randomized controlled trial?
People allocated at random to receive one of several clinical interventions. One is control/comparison (placebo, standard practice or no treatment)
What do randomized controlled trials seek to do?
Measure and compare outcomes after the participants receive the interventions
What type of study is a RCT?
Quantitative

Post marketing surveillance (less common adverse affects)
