What is relative risk?
The incidence in the exposed group/ the incidence in the not exposed (aka risk ratio)
What is absolute risk?
Risk in the exposed group/ risk in the non-exposed group
What is the odds ratio?
Odds of the event when exposed/ odds of the event when not exposed
What is a P value?
A numerical value indicating the probability that this observation has occurred due to chance
What is a confidence interval?
A way of indicating a range of values which probably contain the true value
What is a null hypothesis?
States that there is no relationship between 2 groups
/no relationship between study variables
What is meant by publication bias?
Occurs when the papers that are published on a topic are an incomplete subset of all the studies that have been conducted
