Q

Two Reasons Why Evangelism is Important to Catholics

A

Following Jesus’ Command (The Great Commission)
Jesus instructed his followers to spread the Gospel. In Matthew 28:19-20, He says: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Evangelism helps people learn about God’s love, forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life. Catholics believe that salvation comes through Jesus, and they want others to experience this.
Pope Francis has encouraged Catholics to spread the Gospel with joy and kindness, not just through preaching but also by living out their faith.
