Unlikely to majorly shift policy in direction the government wouldn’t have
NFU (farmers union) has power in conservative governments because most tories will support whatever the NFU stand for anyways - correlation not causation
Depends on political philosophy such as thatcher and anti trade unionism

Their influence is dependant on how much the government lets them exercise but government makes the final policy decisions mostly

They often exert pressure on top of government policy through media usage and protests etc
