What is an EU Directive?
Issued by the EU, which compells every member country to create laws following the directive
What is Direct Effect?
The way an EU directive is handled by the courts if it is not implemented within the prescribed timeframe
What are the two types of EU directives?
Vertical Direct Effect
Horizontal Direct Effect
What is the difference between the two types of EU Directives? + case for each
Vertical Direct Effect:
Allows claims against the state, not individuals. and can be applied even if the directive has not been implemented
