Immunosuppressed patients
Status asthmaticus

Cardiovascular: dysrhythmias
Respiratory: hypoventilation, apnea, laryngospasms

IV, IO
ETOMIDATE- A. Dose
0.2-0.6 mg/kg
over 1 minute
ETOMIDATE- P. Dose
0.1 mg/kg
ETOMIDATE- EXTRAS
Precautions: Use with caution when in the presence of other CNS depressants
Interactions: Verapamil may potentiate the anesthetic and respiratory depressant effects Diuretics, calcium channel blockers and antihypertensive medications may increase risk for hypotension
Onset is immediate and may last 3-5 minutes
