A

Portrayals of Christianity and religious figures are sometimes used in media which causes controversy if thought that it’s inaccurate or offensive. In the media there’s a constant balance between avoiding using material that cause offence+allowing freedom of speech which is a human right.

Others appreciate the realism found in films eg ‘the passion of the Christ’ & the adapted versions of the bible may increase HHS reading audience so it’s a positive thing

A

The passion of the Christ-> many Christians found the realism useful to picture the events in the bible. Others found the film too violent.
Bruce almighty-> present show gods omnipotent etc. Bruce is selfish at first but from Hods intervention he changes for the better. Message that God wants humans to help and care for earth other.

A

Comic versions of the Bible which tell the stories in simple, humerus ways. Younger people often attracted to books with less text. Most C’s believe that anything that encourages ppl 2 read bible is good thing.
Mike Coles turned much of bible into Cockney rhyming slang to make more interesting for pupils in East London. Some say translations shows lack of respect for Gods word, others say makes more interesting and energetic

A

Christians promote their religion due to command of Jesus in The Great Commision’. ‘Jesus came and told his disciples,”Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation”.
Many feel they should educate others about their faith&I some believe Christians are the only ones to go to heaven, this makes the process of ‘saving people’ important

A

The alpha course is an initiative started by the C of E that enables people to explore questions about the meaning of life. It’s contributed to 1000’s of people choosing Christianity.
Also the ‘Damaris Trust’ websites an educational charity with a Christian foundation, it’s an example of using media to educate.
