What is a lack of informed consent and how can it be dealt with
The researcher has not gained appropriate consent
Participants must be given enough information to make an informed decision about participation in the study
What is privacy
Making sure observations are in public places or with consent, and respect some information cannot be shared
How can protection from harm be dealt with
A pilot study can be carried out to identify risks
Debrief participants after the study to prevent harm
How can deception be dealt with
Do not deceive unless completely necessary
Carry out a debrief after the study
How can confidentiality be dealt with
Don’t record identifiable data (name, address)
Create a participant coding system

Follow ethical guidelines
Involvement of ethics committees for moral principles and approving research
Working with animals in psychology
Follow legislation
Only use suitable species
Use the smallest number of animals
Consider breed and care of animals
