deception ?
deception occurs when the ppts are not told what the real aim of the experiment is.( ppt is withheld information about the experiment)
informed consent ?
informed consent is when volunteers give their consent to to be in the experiment, after they have been informed of the entire nature of the study, if a volunteer has been deceived, they cannot give informed consent.
anonymity and confidentiality ?
the General data protection regulation makes confidentiality a legal right.
privacy ?
privacy means that ppts control the rights to withhold as much data and information about themselves as they wish
protection from harm ?
protection from harm means that ppts should leave the experiment in the same physical and mental state that they arrived with, i.e. the ppts should not be harmed in any way during the experiment.
social desirability ?
social desirability occurs when you change your behaviour to match what you believe others would view as acceptable, even if this would not be your natural behaviour.
