What is informed consent?
A
Ppts should know what they are expected to do before the study starts, a consent form must be signed and ppts should be made aware they have a right to withdraw at any time [incl withdrawing the data]

What is preseumptive consent?
A
Asking other people who are similar to our ppts to consent and assuming said ppts would too

What is prior general consent?
A
Ppts will be decieved about the true aim of the study

What is retrospective consent?
A
Getting consent at the end of the study

What is deception?
A
Witholding important information about the study (can be justified if it doesn’t cause harm)

How can we ensure privacy and confidentiality?
A
Use initials or numbers instead of names, no names of locations
