Q

How to make (prepare) an Ester

A
  • mix carboxylic acid and alcohol together
  • add few drops of concentrated Sulphuric acid ( acts as catalyst)
  • Warm for a while
  • tip mixture in to Sodium carbonate solution to neutralise H2SO4 catalyst
