Q

Define Coordination

A

The organization of nerves, bones and muscles to integrate a complicated process of many movements into a single action that appears simple.

Walking is a good example of coordination because it involves the throwing the body off balance to fall forward then catching the forward motion to regain balance in a continuous cycle of unitary motion.

Q

Define Mobility

A

The ability to move

For example, the distal ends of our limbs are more mobile than the proximal ends.

Q

Define Stability

A

The ability to be firmly fixed or supported. Stability is always working in the background of every movement. Without stability we would not have mobility.

Q

Define Kinetic Chain

A

A movement pattern’s predictable sequence of joint movements linked by arrangements of muscles and bones. The Kinetic Chain is composed of the articulate chain, myofascial chain and the neural chain.
