What was the Montgomery bus boycott and why was it significant

A

Rosa parks was arrested for not giving up her seat for a white man on a bus so a boycott happened within 48 hours black people refused to use buses for over a year and the bus company lost money supreme court ordered the buses to be desegregated

This was significant because
Showed power of peaceful protest
Martin Luther rose to fame
Media showed the world how racist USA was .

What was the freedom riders and why was it significant ??

A

Supreme court had ruled all interstate transport to be desegregated and integrated
congress of racial equality wanted to sure that the law was not being enforced
Black and white freedom riders caught a bus form north to south the buses were attacked and they were arrested eventually president Kennedy forced the interstate buses to intergrate

This was significant because showed power of peaceful protest
And the president would intervene
