Promises made by the state/ country to it’s citizens
What are charter rights?
They are rights with a stronger sense of security, and they tie into legal rights. Whenever a canadian feels like their charter rights have been violated, they have the right to take the sate to court

The Canadian constitution; which means that it automatically has a very special status
