What strategies were used for regeneration in cornwall?
-Farm diversification - many farm shops now sell ‘cornish’ food products. farmers get money from different ways like farm shops + animals parks. new streams of income
-Large gardens/houses- using older, larger manor houses or garden spaces to attract people to come to rural spaces. Eden project
-Outdoor pursuits- opportunity to bring people in for sports (extreme academy offer rock climbing lessons)
-Aerohub business park- tertiary + quaternary jobs.
-Enterprise zone- cornwall council, private sector investors
-Major broadband improvement
What were the limitations/ issues with regeneration strategies in cornwall?
-Profits from big companies won’t stay in cornwall, so wont directly affect cornwall
-Environmental damage
-Relies heavily on tourism so it is seasonal, and jobs are usually low paid
