Q

CHC theory describes what? How many levels and what are they?

A

CHC is a theory of intelligence that has three stratum’s. This theory does include a G factor of intelligence.

There are 8 broad abilities: fluid intel-
ligence, crystallized intelligence, general memory and learning, visual perception,

auditory perception, retrieval capacity, cognitive speediness, and processing speed

Q

WISC ages and scales?

A
6-16
FSIQ
1. VCI (Verbal comp)
2. VSI (visual spatial)
3. Fluid reasoning
4. Working memory
5. Processing speed
The wisc also has some additional special scales for clinical puproses
Nverbal index (NVI), General ability index (GAI, and cognitive processing index (CPI; all use same subtests as above). Extra subtests can be administered to aso get Auditory working memory index (AWMI) and quantitiatve reasoning index (QRI)

Q

Leiter international Performance
and
Universal Nonverbal Test. What are they used for?

Q

What is the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychology test Battery

A

For neuropsych injury! Ideally to estimate location of a lesion.
A very long battery

It has several components that include:
The WAIS
Aphasia screening test,
Halstead Category Test (abstract learning ability), Tactual Performance Test,
Speech-Sounds Perception Test,
Seashore Rhythm Test,
the Finger Tapping Test (fine motor),
and the Trail Making Test
Lateral Dominance Exam.

Q

Neuropsychological Assessment Battery (Stern & White, 2003) age range? Number of subtests? And major scale domains?

A

Ages 18-97
36 subtests that cover 5 domains:
Attention, language, memory, spatial, and executive functioning.

17
Q

Mini mental state exam

A

Often used to screen for dementia. 30 items. Assesses different cog function ranging from orientation to place, recall, repetition, language, and complex commands.
Scores of 24 and above are normal. 23-19 mild, 10-18, moderate, 9 or lower is severe

18
Q

Wisconsin card sort

A

A set shifting test, assesses flexibility to change behavior (to update response pattern) when rules change. As a result it is relevant when there are problems to the frontal lobe (not used exclusively for diagnosis).

19
Q

NEPSY-II

A

Neuropsychological assessment for kids as young as 3. 6 domains.

20
Q

Kaufman test of educational achievement

A

Co-normed with Kaufman assessment Battery for kids (KABC). its about academics…

21
Q

WIAT Wechsler Achievement test

A

Focus on reading, comprehension, math, problem solving, and written expression (includes listening comp and sharing knowledge orally)

22
Q

Curriculum vs. Performance based assessment

A

Curriculum-based measurement is the regular assessment of children with
short standardized and validated measures for the purpose of monitoring the
development and mastery of academic skills. Performance-based measurement
involves the evaluation of an individual’s ability to perform a specific skill or
produce a specific item or skill.

23
Q

Luria-Nebraska neuropsych battery

A

supposed to inform possibility of lesions/brain injury.
Includes 24 scales:
examples include left and right hemisphere scales, expressive and receptive speech, tactile, visual, motor etc. It is not all that common.

There are children and adult versions.
