semantic memory
refers to the organised factual knowledge you have about the outside
retrieving autobiographical events from the past (autobiographical memory)
memory system consisting of episodes recalled from a persons life, based on a mixture of episodic and semantic memories
-links past events together into a personal history that relates self through past present and future
