a disorder of the brain characterised by an enduring predisposition to generate epileptic seizures

mesial temporal sclerosis
focal cortical dysplasia
What is the efficacy of vagal nerve stimulation?
most patients will have decrease in seizure frequency but less than 5% of patients will be seizure free
Where does deep brain stimulation target in epilepsy?
anterior nucleus of thalamus
What is the most effective way to control seizures in drug resistant focal epilepsy?
epilepsy surgery
