A retrospective cohort study in Sweden analyzed 2,228,280 singleton births (1998–2019) using nationwide registries. Chorioamnionitis was linked to neurodevelopmental disorders, including cerebral palsy, autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and intellectual disability, through data from maternal and offspring health records.
Preterm delivery (<37 weeks) partially mediated the relationship between chorioamnionitis and neurodevelopmental disorders
Cerebral palsy: Hazard ratio (HR) = 7.43
Autism: HR = 1.43
