EPI (WK 1) Flashcards
EPI Class
Sympathomimetic
EPI Indications
CA, ANA & Bradycardia from dopamine
EPI Contraindications
None, hemorrhagic shock & hypertension
EPI Action
Naturally occuring acutecholamine that rapidly increases the HR, cardiac contractive force, myocardial electrical activity, systemic vascular resistance & systolic. Decreases overall airway resistance & automaticity. Through bronchial artery constriction may reduce pulmonary congestion & increase tidal volume/vital capacity
EPI Side Effects
weakness, headache, syncope, hypertension & MI/CVA
