VFIB & VTACH except due to CHF

Hypotension, AV block & drowsy

Action
A
rapidly acting cardiac glycoside used in the treatment of CHF & rapid atrial dysrhythmias. Increases force & velocity of myocardial contraction & cardiac output. Decreases conduction through AV node thus decreasing the heart rate.

0.25 to 0.5mg slow IVP
10 to 50mcg/lg slow IVP
