Point: Messiah comes from a Jewish word which means to be anointed with oil.
Explain: It can mean “Kingship.” The Jews were waiting for a Messiah to drive out the Romans

What type of Messiah were the Jews waiting for?
Many Jews expected the Messiah to be a military figure who would fight the Romans and drive them out. Also to be a perfect teacher of God’s law. The Messiah would be a source of blessing for all the nations. The Messiah was to be expected a male descendant of the greatest ruler, King David. Also the Messiah will rebuild the ancient Temple in Jerusalem.

How is Jesus viewed across other religions?
Christianity
To Christians, Jesus is more than a man who did good things. This is because Christians believe that Jesus was God in a human body.
Judaism
Jesus is not recognised as the Messiah within Judaism. This is because there were no prophets after Malachi, who lived centuries before Jesus.
Islam
Jesus is believed to an important Prophet (Isa). This is because Muslims do not believe that Jesus was the Son of God or God in human form.
Hinduism
Some Hindus believe Jesus is an avatar (a physical form of a human or super human form) of Vishnu, whilst others believe Jesus is a Guru.

This is a strong point because some people are religious to feel a sense of belonging to a community or a sense of identity. In Islam, this is referred to as the “Ummah” (Islamic community).

Some would agree that religion is for those whose life is hard and difficult because in the Beatitudes, Jesus teaches “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for they shall inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.” This means that Christians should always have faith in difficult situations (faith over wealth).

This is a strong point because the parable, sheep and goats: Rewarded in Heaven. This is because Jesus makes it clear that a life worthy of the reward of heaven must involve actively helping those in need.

In conclusion I think Religion is not for those who only appeal to whose life is hard and difficult because some people are religious because it helps them lead moral lives. Being a good person enables a Christian to form a better relationship with God.
