Q

8 marker question - Explain what the temptations were

A

Jesus was told to go to the desert for 40 days and 40 nights and during this time he was tempted by the devil 3 times. The first temptation was to turn stone into bread. The devil said “if you are the son of God you no need get hungry”. But Jesus is not concerned with material things but with spiritual food given by God. The devil led Jesus to the top of the temple of Jerusalem,
“If you are the Son of God jump off, the Angels will catch you”. Jesus answered “Do not put the Lord your God to the test.” The devil takes Jesus to the top of a mountain showing all the Kingdoms of the World, “All this could be yours if you bow down to the Devil.” Jesus replied “Worship the lord your God, and serve him only.”
