Enzymology 2 Flashcards
Factor that effect enzymes activity
enzymes concentration
substrate concentration
temperature
pH level
competitive inhibitor and non competitive inhibitor are under which inhibitor
reversible inhibitors
Define competitive inhibition
Substrate bind at active site
half of the enzymes trapped by inhibition; half catalysis to form product
**increase in Km; Vmax maintain
**
Excess substrate will abolishes (废除) the inhibition
If concentration of substrate more than inhibitor, inhibition will reversed
Define Non-competitive inhibition
inhibitor bind with enzymes at allosteric site, so no substrate can be bind to the enzymes
Km maintain; Vmax decrease
Excess substrate will abolishes (废除) the inhibition
If concentration of substrate more than inhibitor, inhibition will not relieve
Allosteric enzyme feature
Allosteric enzymes has catalytic site where substrate binds and another separate allosteric site where inhibitor/ activator bind
definition of allosteric regulation
An activator or inhibitor binds to enzymes other than the active site (allosteric site)
Definition of feedback inhibition
Mechanism in which the accumulated end product binds with the enzyme and inhibits the enzymes activity
Product binding of feedback inhibition
End product will binds with the active site of enzymes
