Indications for tonsillectomy
A
1) hugely enlarged ‘kissing’ tonsils ➡️sleep apnoea/ stridor
2) quinsy (peritonsillar abscess)

If you are expect epiglottis what most you not do?
A
Ent (especially things in mouth)
Call anaesthetist
Acute - drooling - HiB

Why not give amoxicillin in tonsillitis?
A
Possible EBV- gives a rash
Give penV (phenxymethylbenopenicillin)

Anterior pinna displacement, what’s the treatment?
A
Iv co-amoxiclav?

When to treat acute otitis media?
A
Tympanic membrane perforation
>2 years, bilateral otitis media
Syx over 4 days
<3 months old (include other causes)
Oral abx + 6 wk follow up for perforation
