-Written works, especially those considered of superior or lasting artistic merit.

Literature
A literary piece presented in the pattern of natural,
straightforward, and ordinary language written
in sentences that are arranged in paragraphs.
Prose
-Written in direct style, without metre or rhyme
and with no regular rhythm.
-A form of language which applies ordinary
grammatical structure and natural flow of speech rathe than rhythmic structure.
Prose
A special kind of artistic writing. It is a way of blending art with language. Repetition and rhythm are often used as building blocks for poetry.
Poetry
-A type of writing that uses language to express
imaginative and emotional qualities instead of or in addition to meaning

Poetry

Elegy
a poem of fourteen lines using any of a number of formal rhyme schemes, in English typically having ten syllables per line.

a form of amateur dramatic entertainment, popular among the nobility in 16th- and 17thcentury England, which consisted of
dancing and acting performed by masked players.
Closed drama
a long poem, typically one derived from
ancient oral tradition, narrating the deeds and
adventures of heroic or legendary figures or the
history of a nation
Epic
a poem or song narrating a story in short stanzas. Traditional ______ are typically of unknown authorship, having been passed on orally from one generation to the next as part of the folk culture.
Balllad
an extremely happy, peaceful, or picturesque episode or scene, typically an idealized or unsustainable one.
idyll
a traditional story sometimes popularly regarded as historical but unauthenticated.
Legend
a story with a fully developed theme but significantly shorter and less elaborate than a novel.
Short Story
the faculty or activity of imagining things, especially things that are impossible or improbable.
